Settlement Dreams

I started saving up resources for a settlement a long time ago. I now have all five hubs thanks to the generous help of others. You know who you are. Many thanks!

I bought several Settlement buildings/items in preparation. I am now on the verge of placing it. The only thing holding me back now is a settlement license which I will purchase at the NPC on San Ferran in Descarte. Currently the license for the place I wish to build at is 45 million.

The next blog entry will hopefully be the one that announces my new settlement. I can hardly wait!

History

I found Core Exiles in March 2009. http://core-exiles.com/ I was invited into the Intelliquest Guild soon after and after thinking it over for a while I gladly accepted.

After going through the Guild's training I graduated and was promoted to Advanced Member when shortly after I reached Captain's level 25. Working hard for the Guild I advanced through the levels and became a Mentor before level 30. Putting forth effort got me noticed and I was offered the position of Lead Mentor. I was definitely nervous about that as I always wish to do my best for the Guild. I felt inadequate. But I accepted just the same. Worked to the bone I was but it was a great time I will not forget.

Because of the work load and other factors I eventually became burned out and felt overworked. I must confess that I almost quit the Guild and Game because of it. After kind assistance and advice I reserved a little more time for myself in the game and started to enjoy things again.

Creating the Lyndarra University in the Guild Forums was one of the tasks that I worked on while Lead Mentor. I built it to be a guide to Mentors and Trainees alike. It is packed full of information from many players and sources. Experience is sometimes the best trainer but why suffer a hull breach or other such things when you can read about how to avoid one.

After much more work and fun times with all, I was chosen to become a Guild Officer after reaching level 40 or 41. I forget which.

Shortly after becoming an Officer tragedy struck my life in the form of severe health problems. I had to resign as Officer soon after.

A while has passed since that heartbreak, a few months actually, and things have settled down into a routine health-wise. After several attempts to re-promote me to the position, I finally felt able to accept.

I became the Guild's Recruiting Officer. Though I needed to keep things at a slower pace than what I had been doing before, I had several approved ideas that I couldn't wait to put into action. But as with real life, things changed. Adjustments were made and I switched assignments from Recruiting Officer to QuarterMaster. I must admit that I am pleased with the new arrangement.

On a side note, I had been working very hard at getting my settlement license. The next blog post will go into more detail on that subject.

Fly safe. Have fun!
